I purchased two loose sheets (14″x16″) of UART Premium Sanded Paper for review, both in 600 grit, from DeSerres. Each sheet retails for CAD$9.99, which is not expensive compared to Clairefontaine Pastelmat. I bought this paper primarily to test out whether oil pastels work better on sanded paper, but surprisingly, it worked very well for …
This is my very first LMA digital art box and I am so glad Let’s Make Art offers this option*! Since I am in Canada, the cost of shipping is getting too high for me. Besides, I have my own paint so all I need is instructions. This month’s theme is Book Club and all …
Clairefontaine’s Pastelmat is often touted as the best pastel paper. So far, it is the most expensive paper I have used, even above my beloved Arches watercolour paper. Is it worth the hype? I tested it with both soft pastels and oil pastels, and here is my review. Using Soft Pastels on Pastelmat This is …
Floral Watercolour by Christin Stapff was the very first book I bought to learn how to do loose florals. Coming off my detailed realistic drawings, the look of loose watercolour flowers is very appealing to me. Believe it or not, loose isn’t easy and requires a lot of practice! So if you are interested in …

LMA (Let’s Make Art)’s watercolour subscription box for January 2023 is “All Around the World“. Out of the four projects, I have been to two of the locations, so it is a bit nostalgic to paint them. By the way, I brought out my Kokeshi, a Japanese hand painted wooden doll from my trip to …
Despite being a published writer, I rarely reviewed books. However, I am compelled to review the Watercolor for Relaxation book because I have been painting from it since Christmas. Although there is a plethora of watercolour instruction books, this one hits all the right notes for me personally for several reasons. Table of Contents Watercolor …
I am very excited to review the 36 Pearlescent Oil Pastels sent to me by Paul Rubens. I don’t currently own this type of pastels so this is my first time using them. Packaging Is GRAND! First of all, it’s hard not to admire the packaging. I purchased the 36 macaron set and the regular …
