Impression Obsession Dies
This year I am doing some Easter cards with the chocolate bunny die from Impression Obsession. I bought this die from 123stitch.com for US$4.49, just like my ginkgo leaf die from the same brand. Although, unlike the ginkgo leaf die, this chocolate bunny die does not emboss, not that it needs to be. It is perfect just the way it is.
The die measures 2.75″x1.5″. I am loving Impression Obsession for making these small single dies so you don’t have to spend a lot of money to make one set of cards with the same theme.
The Steps
To create these chocolate bunny Easter cards, I used some of the old scrapbook papers I already have in my collection. You can also use any printed papers that are sweets or pastel themed, and use complementary coloured cardstock papers for the same results.
Embossing Creates Texture and Accents
I used an embossing folder on the pastel blue and purple cardstocks to give some texture to the chocolate bunny Easter cards. The bunnies pop as a result.
In addition to the dry embossing, I used a piece of vellum in each of the cards. Vellum is another way to create texture because it instantly makes any card look fancier. After that, I heat embossed the “Hoppy Easter” sentiment in silver on the vellum. You can also use any Easter sentiments you already have.
For the circle and the chocolate bunny, I used adhesive foam squares to create more dimension to the cards. Additionally, I adhered bows to the bunnies to dress them up a bit.
So here are the two designs I made for this Easter. I do love adding vellum to the cards, they look more elegant this way!
