What’s better than a gnome on a card? A gnome with a cat! The Spellbinders Gnome Drive collection has a Halloween set, which I cannot resist. If you are looking for gnome themed Halloween card ideas, I have also made treat tags too!
I bought the dies on Amazon.ca for about CAD$15, which have since been sold out. The set contains 7 cutting dies. You can still purchase the set elsewhere, though. By the way, to create the car and the gnome, you will need to buy the Spellbinders Gnome Drive Holiday set, with which I have made this year’s Christmas cards.
Since my daughter is now a teenager and isn’t interested in receiving Halloween cards anymore, I just made 2 prototypes of Halloween cards this year. However, I made 6 tags to hand out treats to her and her friends.
First Card
I used the layering diorama dies from Stampin’ Up to give both of the cards a lot of dimension. The 3D effect is quite nice and works well with the car. I also used some Halloween patterned paper from Michaels as the background. In addition, I adhered a few Halloween sequins to the card as a finishing touch.
Second Card
For the second card, I used the same dies from the first card, but switched up the colour schemes a bit. The background is black and I realized the black cat kind of blended in, but in a way that is sort of the idea! 😛 It has green eyes so you know there’s a cat there even if you can’t see it right away.
By the way, I forgot to stamp the Boo! on the card front, so I just wrote it with a marker.
Tags Galore
In a way, tags are probably more practical than cards for Halloween. I made 6 tags, though only one with the gnome in it. I bought a tag die set on Amazon for pocket change and it cuts well for these simple tags.
So here are the gnome Halloween card ideas for this year. As my daughter is almost finished with high school, it’s probably the last time I will be making these. I do miss making all the treat bags!
Happy Crafting!
