Feeling a bit nostalgic on Lunar New Year, I recreated the classic Hong Kong harbour scene in with Frantic Stamper Junk Boat die. The finished size of the junk boat measures 2.65″x 1.9″, making it the perfect size for scene building or regular card sizes.
First, I used a blending brush and blended in several shades of Stampin’ Up inks on Strathmore 400 series mixed media paper. Then, I used the Skyline rubber stamp by Andy Skinner from Creative Expressions. For the clouds, I used vellum and cut with small cloud dies to let the background show through. I coloured the junk boat with Arrtx alcohol markers. I glossed it with a bit of Scrapbook.com’s Pops of Color in clear to give it a little texture and shine. The birds stamp was from a Paper Pumpkin card kit (Here’s to You).
I love this die a lot. I find it very well made, and I can’t wait to play with it again in another design.
