Fall is my favourite time of the year, and the Birds & Branches stamp and die set from Stampin’ Up* is my favourite set. Today I am using all favourites to create some Thanksgiving greeting cards with birds.
Shop Your Stash
For some people, it’s not possible to keep buying a new set of stamps for every season. Personally, I am trying to buy less. I don’t want to encourage spending if you can work with what you have.
The beauty of sets like Birds & Branches is that you can use them for a variety of occasions.
Birds are Versatile for Greeting Cards
I find birds to be very versatile when it comes to papercrafting and cardmaking. You can use them for Valentine’s, new home, anniversary and seasonal events like Thanksgiving. Maybe because this set didn’t come with sentiment stamps, I can visualize better to use them for a variety of occasions.
The first card I made with Birds & Branches set was for my friend who has just moved into a new house with her husband. New nest is the sentiment. This can easily be a Valentine’s card; simply stamp and die cut the little heart from the set, place it above the birds and you will have a romantic card.
I made the anniversary card for my husband. Light aqua/teal/turquoise is my favourite colour, so it’s almost always in my creations. If you want to read more about your art style and whether you have one, give my recent post a read. 🙂
Thanksgiving Greeting Cards with Birds
I am giving these out this year for Thanksgiving. For us Canadians, it is just around the corner! 😉
By the way, I don’t do identical cards in the same batch. I usually use the same stamps and dies but with different colours and arrangement so each card is unique.
One more:
Trees and Leaves
Trees and leaves are just as versatile too. I used Stampin’ Up’s Winter Woods stamp set and Gorgeous Leaves bundle to create some Fall framed art. The birds were from a Paper Pumpkin Kit.
Stampin’ Up Gorgeous Leaves and Intricate Leaves dies are among my favourites as well. They are great for Fall but if you use green the leaves can be used for any occasion. You can use pastel pinks and turquoises with the leaves for a more fairy tale effect, which is also great for Spring time.
